I ACCEPTED CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR,

NOW WHAT?

If you have taken this Very, First Step on the pathway, congratulations, and welcome to God’s family! Now that you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, here are some ways to grow in your relationship with Him:

PRAY - Relationships grow through communication. Prayer is your communication with God. Take time to communicate your concerns, questions and desires with Him. Also, take time to listen for how God will communicate with you! He speaks through His Word (Bible), in quiet moments, and through other people.

BIBLE READING AND STUDY - The Bible is a book of love letters from God to His children. Its message is not antiquated, but relevant for today. He introduces Himself to us and gives us basic principles, guidance, and inspiration on how to live. Just as our physical bodies need regular feedings to maintain good health and energy, so our spiritual life needs to be fed the Word of God. Set a daily time to read the Bible. If you don't have a Bible, we will give you one!

BE BAPTIZED - As soon as there is another water baptism service scheduled, notify the pastor that you want to obey Christ and be water baptized. Acts 2:38 says, "Repent and be baptized every one of you.."

NOTE; Once you get to this point you should look into taking some discipleship classes. These next steps include a commitment to your church family and other exercises in personal growth. Classes 100 & 101 will lead you in the right direction. Sign up for this Class as soon as you get a chance.

FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER BELIEVERS - This is where we gather with other Christ-followers to encourage one another and help each other be accountable. Join a GROUP as soon as the opportunity becomes available. Groups are small gatherings of between 6 and 12 people that meet once a week for about 10 weeks at a time. Some new Groups will be starting soon.

WITNESS TO OTHERS who need Christ - Every Christian is a missionary. II Corinthians 5:20 says, “We are ambassadors for Christ.” Ask God for opportunities to share your faith in Jesus Christ. Our lives should be a witness in both our words and actions.

BECOME A GIVER; It's a family trait! - (Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-8; Proverbs 3:9-10) Let a flow of giving begin and grow in you. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than receive.” Give forgiveness, time, talents and treasure!

BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT - (Luke 11:13; Acts 2:4,38-39) This experience will better prepare you for witness and ministry. There is much more from the Holy Spirit for us such as gifts (I Corinthians 12) and fruit (Galatians 5:22-23).

VOLUNTEER TO REACH OUT AND SERVE in Christ’s church - (Galatians 5:13; Ephesians 6:7) Christ wants us to find ways to serve others. And as we serve them, we should do so as though we are serving Jesus himself!

Once you have received Christ as your Savior and started your next steps as outlined on this page, you can begin considering discipleship classes. These steps are simply DOORWAYS to new levels in Christian life and experience. Be alert to announcements and notices giving dates for the following Core Classes and then sign up.

Join with us in worship this week and begin taking the Next Steps on your exciting adventure with God.
